Only open to professionals, the Ethical Fashion Show runs until January 18, during Berlin fashion week, featuring three lines (vegan, sustainable and upcycling) from Spring / Summer and Autumn / Winter collections, in Kraftwerk Berlin, an old power station that has become the hotspot of sustainability and innovation in fashion. In the event, which counts not only on the presence of sustainable fashion brands but also on parallel actions such as lectures and discussions, there are almost ten Portuguese brands (fashion, footwear and accessories) .
Portuguese designer Marita Setas Ferro is presenting the first sustainable collection of her brand, Marita Moreno, at the Ethical Fashion Show, which brings together the main players in the sustainable segment of the fashion industry. "Ethics, transparency and social responsibility have always been intrinsic values in Marita Moreno," says Marita Ferro, in a statement from the Portuguese brand. "We have a commitment as a company to minimize environmental impacts."
The latest collection's vegan line features timeless design and the quality of natural materials such as organic cotton, certified cork, burel and rubber (for soles). With regard to the upcycling line (a kind of improved version of the recycling trend), it is made of materials that remain. And the sustainable line mostly uses non-chromium leather.
