Portuguese brands Marita Moreno, Elementum and 7Hills were honored with the FOMA - Symbol of Harmony Award at the Fashions of Multicultural Australia held last Saturday, March 10 in Sydney. The pieces presented by the three brands were created around the motto "crafting a future inspired by you", highlighting a fashion approach centered on the harmony between comfort, quality and environmental concern. Monika Tu, a member of the jury, explains in a statement that it was because they put "a visa in all the boxes" that deserved to be winners.
The participation of the brands in the event was coordinated by the AICEP (Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal) in Sydney, highlighted by the FOMA organization recognizing the difficulty of coordinating three designers remotely and achieving such a harmonious and successful result ."The invitation [to the Marita Moreno brand] was made by our manager AICEP, Maria Inês Veloso Ferreira, and we were immensely happy to have the opportunity to reach Australia," says designer Marita Setas Ferro, founder and creative director of Marita Moreno, fashion accessories brand created in a logic of slow fashion. "We have an approved project of internationalization by the North2020 and even if Australia is not in our expansion plans in the first phase, it is undoubtedly a great market that interests us immensely."The award received includes invitations to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, held in Sydney, Australia in May, and mentoring and networking sessions focused on the fashion industry in Australia, as well as the opportunity to deliver a presentation to students at the school TAFE NSW, which is dedicated to vocational education with courses in fashion.
