Maya woman bordeaux bootlets are inspired in the exotic charater from planet Psychon, of the series “Space 1999”. This model is made from croco and plain bordeaux upcycling leather and bordeaux burel to contrast between soft and hard, brilliant and dull. The assymetrical cuts and platforms gives to this model an exotic look.

A limited and numbered edition of 100 pairs

Space 1999 models are inspired by the 70’s TV series, set in year 1999 when the nuclear waste stored on the Moon's far side explodes, knocking the Moon out of orbit and sending it, as well as the 311 inhabitants of Moon base Alpha, hurtling uncontrollably into space. The moon images, the design from the wardrobe, the extra-terrestrial characters and the spots from the meteoric impacts in the face of the moon inspires this line made with upcycled leather and Burel (Portuguese 100% wool cloth water resistance and semi-artisanal). They reflect the bright side of the moon, with intense and vibrant colors and silver spots, like light beams.

Burel – a 100% wool cloth produced by a company of family origin, located in Manteigas, Serra da Estrela. Burel's authenticity results from a sequence of specific operations in the manufacturing process. The wool, after being shorn, washed, spun, woven into the organ and woven into the loom, is trodden on a machine called “pisão”, which knocks and scalds the wool, transforming the fabric into burel, making it tighter, more resistant and waterproof.

Marita Moreno’s upcycling line is produced with wastes from other collections and/or materials, in this way we are creating a Circular Economy. Upcycling is the process of transforming unwanted products, waste materials, by-products or useless materials into new materials or products with a higher quality and environmental value.

Designed and made in Portugal in a sustainable and ethical perspective way - using only Portuguese factories and handmade crafts to create its designs.
