Space 1999 Koenig is a backpack made with upcycling leather and burel and belong to a limited Editions – you can find it in grey, green and beige.

Space 1999 models are inspired by the 70’s TV series, set in year 1999 when the nuclear waste stored on the Moon's far side explodes, knocking the Moon out of orbit and sending it, as well as the 311 inhabitants of Moon base Alpha, hurtling uncontrollably into space. The moon images, the design from the wardrobe, the extra-terrestrial characters and the spots from the meteoric impacts in the face of the moon inspires this line made with upcycled leather and Burel (Portuguese 100% wool cloth water resistance and semi-artisanal). They reflect the bright side of the moon, with silver spots, like light rays.

Marita Moreno’s upcycling line is produced with wastes from other collections and/or materials, in this way we are creating a Circular Economy. Upcycling is the process of transforming unwanted products, waste materials, by-products or useless materials into new materials or products with a higher quality and environmental value.

Burel is a traditional portuguese 100% wool cloth. We use Burel produced by a company of family origin, located in Manteigas, Serra da Estrela (Mountains of Portugal), the oldest certified Artisan Productive Unit in Portugal. Currently the third generation, since 1925, they ensure the entire wool transformation cycle, from shearing to the final product always in an ecological and sustainable way. The Burel is made of Bordeleiras sheep wool, they are the most representative indigenous breed of Serra da Estrela, Burel is a very resistance cloth used by the shepherds to protect them from cold and rain.

Produced in a unique and ethical perspective way - using only Portuguese factories and handmade crafts to create its designs.
